Is it now certain that Columbus will not be launched by a space shuttle? Could it be adapted to launch on Ariane 5 or Proton M?

It it still planned for launch on the Shuttle along with Kibo. Those would be two of the final few Shuttle missions.

-Ben

Yes, thanks. They would be launched on separate flights.

-Ben

That is good!

From some sources you can get the impression that it will never fly.

Actually the IPs are pushing to have their modules go up early. It is probably not wise to change the critical sequence to accomodate but we will see where this goes in the next month or so.
