A decayed, ancient, old universe....that had quantum fluctuations happen?

And this universe is the result

No. The scenario you describe would best be characterized as the same Universe being recyled.

Our Solar System must be passing through a Non Sequitur area of space.

Awww, that means the Dr Who episode "Terminus" is wrong. *pouts*

(It's a great episode, though, even if it's scientifically implausible.)

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

not really....they say that our universe came from a quantum fluctuation in a vacuum (the leading theory states this)...well when our universe dies, it will become a vacuum...and turn into a zero-enery field or close to it...you do the math, its nothing like a recycled universe

What are you saying?

Do you think that its possible?

A pretty good idea?

yeah we'll probably never know, but it cant hurt trying

"The potential for a big bang must also have been somewhere, on the other side of our perception of "vacuum" anyways it doesnt necessarily have to exist on the "other" side...

In the extremely distant future, due to the apparently relentless expansion of our universe, with a seemingly large but limited number of particles, eventually space will so dilute the density of 'stuff' that a single photon will find itself alone in a volume of space the size of our universe today. Every single remaining photon in its own volume of space equal to all we now know. And the universe keeps expanding googols of orders of magnitude bigger still. Then "zap" another universe big bangs itself into existence somewhere in this void. Not sure this scenario is detectably different than what is under consideration here, but should Mr. Occam be rising to the occaission about now?

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

A great book describing the thinning out of the universe is 5 Ages of the Universe. Very depressing though.

When ever I'm feeling a little blue, just contemplating the dark cold empty void that our universe will be in 10^100 years always sharpens up that sensation of uselessness and futility.

We came to wreck everything and ruin your life.
