I've read some reviews of it and it almost seems to be the best game ever. Halo was one of my favourite games, especially in coop mode, so Halo2 is going to be... WHOA!!! *can't wait*

I played Halo 1 on the pc. I havn't followed Halo 2 but everyone seems to be drooling over it. I'm more interested in Half Life 2.

Sheesh. It's a First person shootemup with kinda sorta a story line.

I was severely disappointed with the game. Here they had a Ringworld to explore, and all they could think to do with it was have us kill a bunch of mindless ghouls...

Over, and over, and over and over again.

Vote Libertarian

This is an eagerly awaited game. While HALO may have had it's problems (I never played it btw) it literaly "sold" the X-Box console. Without HALO as it's flagship game, X-Box would have met with very little success during it's first market year. Obviously, there was enough of a following behind HALO to encourage the purchase of the X-box for that reason alone.

If they cater to the users of HALO1, this should be a good title for the console. I agree that Halflife2 and Doom3 are going to outperform HALO2 in the PC market though.

Btw, Halflife2 should redefine the FPS/Adventure genre.
I put on my robe and wizard hat...

If they'd bothered to pay rights to Niven they could have had a half decent story line too!

I wish I could remember
But my selective memory
Won't let me - Mark Oliver Everett

It's disappointing that the Halo 2 storyline is incomplete, the game is just going to end on a cliffhanger note.

Still though, the multiplayer looks amazing!

A couple of beers and a couple of friends, then start up Halo and play trough some levels on legendary in coop-mode. Nothing is better than that. Or perhaps the same thing with Halo 2 is better, though I haven't tried Halo2 yet, so I can't say.

Can someone tell me how HALO 1 ended?

I got not far after that flyin lantern thing that opens all the big doors. I think i got outside into some swamp like place with towers, maybe even further. I remember takin the fight to the covenant and beaming aboard one of their ships with my team.

Ya sure ya wanta know?

halo 1 spoiler:

Okay, the flood gets loose and starts pounding the snot out of the remaining marines and covenant forces.

The flood infiltrates the Covenant ship (I still haven't figured out why they don't just turn off the elevator!) and, oddly, doesn't seem to create any covenant flood (my observation, not a plot point).

You run up there to save the Captain, again, or at least to get his neural interface so you can get into the Marine Cruiser (the Autumn?) and blow it up.

You get there, the captain has been interfaced into the covenant computers via a big fleshy sack of flood flesh (i.e absorbed and subsumed by the flood). You kill him out of mercy, get the interface.

You go to the Autumn, run around, and initiate a fusion reactor meltdown...don't ask how that works, i don't know.

You then have only a few minutes (~2) to escape. You jump in a warthog and go flying down the spine/expressway obstacle course in the ship. If you finish in time, you live and escape in a fighter. IF you don't....you've gotta start the race over.

The ringworld is shattered by the explosion, and doesn't destroy the galaxy, and kills the flood (hopefully). Which makes me wonder...why wasn't that the original plan to kill the flood, instead of sterilizing a galaxy when the flood is only on the ring...

You then plot a course for Earth...

Insert Halo 2 plotline....

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

I have to agree that they're were some holes in the plotline that you could drive a Mack truck through. But for a game to sit down with some buddies, have a few beer and play, I've never seen anything better. Only other game that comes close is the old Goldeneye game on the 64.

There could be many reasons, they all want to win and blame each other if they're not the winners!

Maybe in co-operation mode they shooot each other by mistake(or on purpose),and then yell at each other!
Don't listen to all the negative talk by a few,and they are a few, your son will love it I'm sure!!

It's a great shoot me-up,and I LOVE KICKING ALIEN BUTT!!!!

I couldn't agree more,HALO1 was fantastic and even though it is two years old now,I still think the first one is as good as most shoot me ups released now, maybe not all but most!

You'll love HALO2,it's even more shoot me up than the first, with even more baddies..............GREAT!!!!

I hope there is more variety. That's the thing that got to me with Halo. Looked good, played good.

And they altered things enough that I didn't completely get a been there done that feel (except for the rooms linked by hallways...that's all one blur to me).

But they only had 4 enemies...grunts, jackals, elites (with subtle variations, sure, but you dealt with them the same) and hunters.

Heck, grunts I barely pay attention to unless on legendary (then any weapon hurts, even in the hands of a grunt).

It's good you can kick them off their own own crafts and take it over, and I really like the fact there is no health to pick up,It's much better just having the shields!

LOVE the sword!!!

yeah, picked it up last night when I saw my GRE scores (I AM SMRT!)

It's a blast. Love the new feel (it's like halo...but different).

It's actually hard, the enemies suprise me often, and the game just looks so much better.

The hit specific damage modeling (on vehicles at least) is awesome. The dual wielding is well done, not to overpowered (but enough to be fun!) since I still miss grenades.

I like it alot!

Yubu, I feel that way about most FPS. Halo, however, just seems better on the console.

The main reason I have an X-box is for something I and another person can do. I'd love to have bought another computer, and networked however:

1) Don't have the money
2) Requires 2 computers now, since mine is pretty dated

Running around and laughing at the grunt's pathetic efforts to stop you in any fashion (basically only a lucky hit with a fuel rod launcher does that!) right next to a good friend (or often in my case my gf) is nice.

Much more enjoyable than watching or being watched while partaking in my favorite past-time (video games).

Though I still love PC games.

Well!!!!, I certainly don't agree with the gay bit,and although I like pc games too,no graphics on any console game can compare to computer graphics, but I love playing games on my Xbox sitting on my nice comfortable lounge,in front of the big screen TV!!

HALO2 ROCKS!!!!
