Oooh, that one's really gorgeous, swampcat. It's pretty enough to frame and put on the wall!

In my opinion, one of the neatest things about the MER mission is that it's making Mars look like something more than a barren, rubble-strewn wasteland. It's still a "magnificent desolation", but it is a beautiful one now.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

"Great images swampcat. I love your cherry-brown of the sand !"

Thanks, Chemist, but I'm not sure I can take credit for the color. I just punched the buttons and that's what came out .

Anyway, here is a part of one of your images in "approximate true" color from Oppy on Sol 208:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Swampcat, The_chemist, its good to see your posted images again. It looks like summer is almost
officially over. It’s good to be back.

Chew_on_this I see swampcat help you out. The further down Opportunity goes, the more
interesting rocks it finds.

Here is another look at the above image. I compensated a bit for the amount of
light they give all there filtered images and came up with this. I am finding more and more
green parts in some of my images by trying to correct the image quality because of the way
they take the image, don't know how close to true color this is.

Ron Bennett

Probably won't see any of this until late Sunday or Monday. You know how the mods are about approving images on the weekends . Oh well, got to have a life I guess .

Anyway, here is a sunset from the Columbia Hills as seen by Spirit:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.
