Wow, nice work guys. It's good to see such nice images even if I'm only back temporarily. I've been pretty much out of the loop for two weeks. I hope to be back on real soon so keep posting swampcat and rlb2.

"...keep posting swampcat and rlb2."

I guess I'll keep at it until the rovers die ...then move on to Cassini .

Seriously, I believe we're getting close to a break when we lose contact with Mars for a week or two. I could look it up I guess, but does anybody know when that's going to happen and for how long?

Edit: Nevermind. A 17 July MER update from The Planetary Society says it will be "for a period of 11 days centered around September 16..."

In the meantime...this is the latest from Oppy:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccessful rebellions, indeed, generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions as not to discourage them too much. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government."

Thomas Jefferson
