Is it time to send another message to intelligent aliens? Some scientists think so.

I don't think we should be giving our location away, but at this point the entire topic is moot. We have been sending out entertainment signals for about a century now. They will get to any "aliens" long before any message we send out. They could triangulate our position from those signals.
What's the point in sending out more signals that will likely just get lost in the crowd?

This sounds like the best of all possible government jobs i.e.: concocting and sending messages in coded text via radio that have to be deciphered by astute, intelligent space aliens who can make no timely responses let alone may never notice such messages. And the bill to the taxpayer is ???????
