I dunno fear,
It seems like china just got ticked-off with the space program taking so long to remove an sateliite from orbit and so decided to shoot it down. This would scare the world of china trans-continental missle capacity and get rid of a pesky satellite.

AND as if they really care about hitting the U.S. spy sattelite. I think not. You can't blame them they just want to be a super-power too.

I wonder why I didn't hear about this before?

________________________________________

your move...

China was never a country to worry about litter. You should take a train ride in China sometime, it would shock you.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I really, really, really miss the "first unread post" function.

Actually, most analysts think that China was sending a very loud message to the U.S. The Bush administration has proposed investigating new space based weapons. Blowing up this satellite was China's way of telling the U.S. that the U.S. has a lot more to lose from militarizing space than does China.

I realized right from the beginning what a danger it was before, and what a disaster this stupid action by China was. They have poisoned their own well as much as ours.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. China ...have poisoned their own well as much as ours.

Very true. As I said, visit China. I have taken many trips to China and in general their cultural attitudes towards consideration of others, their degree of self-interest, the attitude towards the environment, and their long-term attitude towards leaving a heritage for our planet's grandchildren seems to me to be much different than a typical Westerner or Japanese person.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I really, really, really miss the "first unread post" function.

"U.S. and Russian officials changed the International Space Station's orbit to keep it clear of debris from a satellite destroyed by China, a report says. "

It was an an apparent translation error from the Russian report - the ISS has not changed its orbit due to any debris.
