The career of telescope namesake James Web is in the past. Anything done today is not going to change that past, rewrite history, or correct any wrongs made during a time when society was more closed and intolerant. Reviewing it now is a waste of time when efforts could be used to do future good rather than trying to change the historical unchangeable bad. Reviewing it now is like grilling someone on a first date about their baggage in order to rewrite their past to your liking. Times change. Let's move on and actually be tolerant and accepting of our past knowing we can and should do better. Let us learn from these missteps rather than trying to hide, bury, or disavow them.
