I am one of the few who liked Janeway a lot.

I agree about the Hepburn thing too - Katherine Hepburn was the one who went against the standard image for women first - mindless sex objects ad nauseum. It took a strong man to play opposite her.
She could be strong-willed and while she didn't have say, Garbos' legs or a 40C she was very pretty. She was my favorite actress.

There aren't a lot of female captains for role models, are there? Do we want female captains to act like men? Janeway was on pretty much new ground. There was Space Rangers, which lasted what, 5 episodes?
I liked that show except, they lost me when, on the first episode, they started firing machine guns inside their spaceship. Duh.

No, I respect Star Trek a great deal for putting Janeway out there for the guys to trash. I think she did a fine job of captaining, particularly under the conditions she was in. She had no star fleet around to provide her with orders or crew and she had to do everything seat of the pants. She showed great courage, along with strength and determination.

She has been retired now and I wish the guys would finally cut her some slack.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Conan. Where did he come from? He should be with Xena and Hercules in Hysterically inaccurate History.

How about a combination of The Borg meets Darth Vader in the Death Star? They could immolate one another as Luke zeroes in for the kill.
