Shuttle Launch from the White Room!

Be quite the view if you had enough ear protection to keep from getting killed. Although IIRC, the whiteroom at launch is positioned in such a way as to preclude one from viewing the shuttle itself. That is the open end of the room points pretty much south when retracted for launch.<br /><br />I couldn't download the vid but the camera is probably mounted outside the whiteroom if you saw the shuttle pass close. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><strong>My borrowed quote for the time being:</strong></p><p><em>There are three kinds of people in life. THAT was definately the most interesting "angle" I've seen in a while .... any idea what the temps get to in the White Room as the launch proceeds?

I don't have any idea of what kind of temperatues, etc. I guess the best indication would be the normal kind of pad and white room referbishment work that is needed after each launch. Shuttle Guy would probably be our best source here but he would be busy with the TCDT this week...<br /><br />I don't think there would be too much needed, I have not heard of any significant effort needed in this area before.<br />

shuttle_guy:<br />No, the view is from inside the white room looking south.<br /><br />Me:<br />I mentioned the inside view in my post but suggested they may have a camera outside the whiteroom which would allow a nice view of the shuttle ascending. I don't recall if there is one near the whiteroom.
