New from the SpaceX folks at the 46th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference this week....

"Falcon XX" looks a lot like "Concept 103" in the MSFC HLV study performed early this year. This is a rocket that can do the job of a three-stage Saturn V or 2.5 stage Ares V with only two stages. It would be cheaper to operate than a Shuttle-Derived HLV, but it would cost more to develop (due largely to the new kerosene engine development effort).
