Explorers have discovered a series of mysterious, "perfectly aligned" holes punched into the seafloor roughly 1.6 miles (2.6 kilometers) beneath the ocean.

Seems like what they need is the (very deep) underwater version of a "trail camera" that can be set up to watch an area for activity, then record it, and, for this hard to reach location, transmit its recordings to a surface buoy or station-keeping drone ship. That all seems doable with current technology, although probably expensive. But, still far cheaper than looking for life on Europa.
