Is this a dedicated Nitrogen supply? How much problem would using pyrotechnic gear extension cause for the next launch?

Thanks for that info. Sounds like it shouldn't be a big issue then.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

So if the other two systems open the uplocks the pyros don't fire, or they do automatically if one system fails?

13:14 GMT for first try, 14:50 for second. Weatehr for second looks unlikely and there is a decent chance rain will preclude the first. Tuesday looks similar so there is a decent change of landing at Edwards which could impact the 12A.1 launch in December.

The funny part of that is that I do remember clearly when there were few orbiters - and it seemed like Challenger was always getting launched...

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Wow, using the same shuttle for two consecutive flights. Has this happened in the past?. It will surly highlight the intended main idea of the space shuttle. Reusable flight hardware that is similar to a commercial airplane.
Ok, I know that WAS the main idea when the shuttle was first built, quick turnaround. Ok back to reality. Still great to have the program back on track albeit for a short few years at most.
"Wow, using the same shuttle for two consecutive flights. "

I think you misread - 12A.1 is not a consecutive flight, 12A is next. But yes, I think there have been in the past - including the current and last years!

I hope you guys are wrong about the weather. A couple of minutes away from a briefing on this according to NASA TV.

I got my '121 patch in the mail today, so I'm a happy camper. It was a close run thing as I was hoping it would arrive before the end of the mission. In true MCC tradition, I'll be sitting it on top of my 'console' (the TV) tonight for the landing.

Bring 'em home Discovery.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

I think it's actually required under the TOS somewhere in there.

Granted it's not as impressive as the patches on top of MCC's consoles, but neither is me telly!

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Sounds like they'll be coming in on 33 if they get a GO for the first pass.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!
