That is for ISS ..

A main computer failure aboard the International Space Station knocked out communications between the orbiting laboratory and Earth for a short time Sunday, but the station has since recovered, NASA officials said.

Thanks for all the updates everyone. Understand landing is unlikely to happen today due to low cloud & rain @ Kennedy??

Like the below image very much. The Sahara Desert, North Africa, seen through the Cupola. Does not say where exactly, anywhere from Morocco to Egypt.

Soichi ....

Yea, bad prognosis for tonight, but still might change, there is a possibility of clouds scattering, some holes in the cloud cover little before on the radar, i would guess it depends on the wind.

wake-up in 3 min ..

Endeavour Crew Preparing for Landing
Sun, 21 Feb 2010 07:29:14 PM GMT

The crew of space shuttle Endeavour awoke at 2:14 p.m. EST to “The Marines' Hymn," played for Commander George Zamka (Col., USMC).

Weather permitting, Endeavour is scheduled to land at Kennedy Space Center's shuttle landing facility at 10:20 p.m. EST. The STS-130 entry team led by Flight Director Norm Knight will be on console in Mission Control at 3:30 p.m. to prepare for deorbit and landing.

The latest Kennedy forecast calls for a chance of showers within 30 nautical miles of the shuttle landing facility and a cloud ceiling at 6,000 feet, both violations of landing rules. The forecast for Edwards Air Force Base in California also contains violations for showers within 30 nautical miles of the runway and cloud ceilings at 3,000 and 6,000 feet. The National Weather Service Spaceflight Meteorology Group at Johnson Space Center will provide Knight and his team with continuous updated forecasts and real-time observations to aid in a "go-no go" decision for the deorbit burn.

That's how i keep them together, and you can see when something happened. Check file-name numbers, they are STS time.

But i can also stop doing this.

Hi EarthlingX,

Just had to post these up. ISS passing over the evening terminator. Note how the arrays tilt further back as they track the setting sun in orbit.

Hi Testing,

Don't look like it. Even if the weather looks OK now, it seems highly likely that it will deteriorate again come landing time. Tomorrow does not look much better either.

Perhaps a landing at Edwards with Endeavour coming home on a Boeing 747??

From Spaceflightnow.com. Justin Ray.

2225 GMT (5:25 p.m. EST)
Although the skies don't look too bad right now at the Kennedy Space Center, the weather forecast for landing time continues to call for low cloud ceilings and showers in the area.

2215 GMT (5:15 p.m. EST)
The astronauts have perform an inertial measurement unit alignment for the guidance system. And a short time ago, they opened the deorbit preparation timeline.

Hi EarthlingX.

There does appear to be, but 22:20 HRS EST is what, 4 hours & 19' away. Quite a long time still.

Latest from Spaceflightnow.com Justin Ray.

2250 GMT (5:50 p.m. EST)
The latest weather forecast from the Spaceflight Meteorology Group for today's 10:20 p.m. EST landing at the Kennedy Space Center is calling for broken decks of clouds forming ceilings at 6,000, 12,000 and 25,000 feet, 7 miles of visibility, a south-southeasterly wind from 160 degrees of 7 peaking to 10 knots. There's also a concern for a "chance" for rain showers and thunderstorms developing within the sensitive 30-mile zone around the runway,

Spaceflightnow.com Justin Ray.

Anyway, I am going to get some sleep now.

Good night everyone.

Will be interesting to see if Endeavour is down before I wake up.

Final post before I go to sleep.

From Spaceflightnow. Justin Ray.

2310 GMT (6:10 p.m. EST)
The crew has re-installed the mission specialists' seats. They've also put Endeavour into the "cold soak" attitude that's proven over the years to help keep the avionics' temperatures in check during the landing.

Spaceflightnow. Justin Ray.

T38 Jet is observing showers some 20 miles off shore. Good news is that they are moving away.

Good night everyone.

Is there really a useful purpose to the images in the last two posts?

Lets' save them for something significant, eh?

It shows current position, and what was on when something happened.
You will also notice that they are more or less 10 min apart, or at least i try to, can't do it always, depends on TV quality and boring level of the picture (have something to say about that, later) ..

I must admit, that this control room pictures are not much fun, i like clouds much better

Will adjust, make longer beat, unless something happens. ok ?

So what? Who really cares what the position is, or what the control room looks like?

Lets try and keep the thread less polluted with pointless images. I don't object with the spacewalk images. But this is just a waste of server space. Seriously

BTW, I am speaking as user MW, not Mod MW ;)
