I've just finished a 2 week long binge of TNG. I had only seen part of the final season when it was aired; and a few episodes here and there in syndication.

A friend let me borrow all 7 seasons on dvd.

I went from episode 1 season 1, all the way to All Good Things...

What an AMAZING series that was.

All the episodes are fresh in my mind -- If I had to pick "the best", I'd choose Where No One Has Gone Before from the first season.

http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/TNG/episode/68318.html

Also Remember Me from season 4.

http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/TNG/episode/68464.html

Both were one of the three episodes involving "The Traveler".

Sucks though. The series just ended for me an hour ago. I miss it, dammit!
I liked the latter seasons much more so than the first few ones (the ones with that weird lighting and Dr. Polaski…also, the uniforms from the first season were much too spandexy). My favorite episodes are all “to be continued” types. First, when the Borg attacked the federation and abducted Picard. And second, the final two episodes when Picard is traveling through time trying to fix a temporal anomaly that he caused in the first place.

I think that maybe they ended that show a little too soon, I definitely would have watched a few more seasons (especially after witnessing the disaster that was ST: Deep Space Nine).

The best TNG episodes were, in my opinion -

1. Inner Light
2. Best of Both Worlds
3. Yesterday's Enterprise
4. The Nth Degree (Barcley gets smart)
5. Q-Who (The Borg and Q in one episode, too good!)
6. Family (Another touching Picard episode)
7. Future Imperfect (Barash fools Riker...twice)
8. Tapestry (A classic Q and Picard episode - Second chance for Picard)
9. Remember Me (Where's everyone Bev?)
10. All Good Things (Can't leave that one out)

Some notable episodes that didn't make the Top Ten

The Most Toys (Data is "stolen")
Darmok
Identity Crises (Geordi turns into a chameleon)
Sarek (temper, temper)
Redemption (classic Worf episode"s")
Tin Man

Worst Episodes

Anything with Troi's Mom, and with Dr. Pulaski

8. Tapestry (A classic Q and Picard episode - Second chance for Picard)

I have to agree with this choice... this episode was fantastic.

Just tell the truth and let the chips fall...

Yeah, Tapestry was something else; wasn't it? You finally saw the unique friendship develope between Q and Picard. A sort of parallel to the "God to man" relationship we have with the "Man" upstairs.

Also, the acting performance Patrick Stewart gave us at the end of Sarek was truly a masterpiece. I think that performance is when all of us TNG fans realized how magical this particular Trek series really was, and how talented this particular cast was.

I didn't enjoy the first and second seasons that much, with the exception of the one where they introduce the Borg

I agree, the first and second season didn't really do it for me. Maybe the characters weren't developed enough for me. Wesley Crusher? Hmmm, never liked him much.

Fav episodes.

Sins Of The Father
Fist Full Of Data's
Best Of Both Worlds
Relics
The one they are caught in a temporal loop. Don't remember the name.
Yesterdays Enterprise
