Speaking of the poker game, and prompted by a post I just made over at M&L to try and calm the broo-ha-ha down a little, it would have been amusing to have CNN's Miles O'Brien turn up at poker game with Trek's O'Brien.

I guess the CNN version is barely noteworthy in this century, though, let alone the 24th.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Rogers, you misunderstood, I was just letting luciusVerus know the meaning of the acronym IIRC.

I think 'conspiracy' was one of the better ones. The bit with the maggot eating was funny.

That was another episode in the 2nd season wasn't it? I didn't enjoy the first and second seasons that much, with the exception of the one where they introduce the Borg. The show really hit its stride in the third season and continued until the series finale.

Just a quick note. Royale was a good one for sure, if I remember rightly. Wasn't that the one where the aliens found a "cheap" novel about a hotel and put that astronaut(?) in it? I still liked where Data said at the gaming table, here's some spreading around money for them, or something like that.

But about those maggot eating copies of people, that never was developed well, and it didn't score as well to my thinking.
One of the ones I would liked to have seen developed better was the one where they found the 3 people, (2 guys and a girl), in a cryo-sleep ship. They were all sick beyond their time to help. I would liked to see how they fit into earth of that time's frame for a followup show.

Yes, I know. And I'm still waiting for you to tell us what you "recall that correctly" to be? (-;

IMHO, one of the most terrible OS episodes was the one with the hippie goofballs with the character that had the kooky cauliflower ears. God I hated that. Chekovs little love story and all.

Well, if you want to watch the best Star Trek movie ever - well, sort of - , watch the first episode and then the final double episode back to back. They kind of needly fit into one.

But, I must admit, the TNG episodes with the Borg are also very good.

***

What episode was it when Picard had to eat that disgusting thing out of the egg when he was captured by Romulans? That was a great one!

My favourite episode was "Family" season 4 episode 2, the follow up to Best of Both worlds. Picard returns to earth and has to deal with the trauma of being taken by the borg.

I liked how he was just a normal person who became a starship captain, and his brother was jealous.

I don't think his brother was jealous (he was when they were young). He was just playing the bully role to make Jean Luc realize that they were BOTH exactly where they should be.

Yes, very good episode. Came right after MY favorite, "Darmok".

Vote Libertarian

I saw the Hotel Royale episode today. Pretty good. But i liked the one after it, where another picard came back in time to stop him from making a decision that would destroy the enterprise. Nothing like time travel

I think the best TNG episode hasn't been written as yet. It would be the one where Bevely Crusher, Wesley and "Captain" Janeway are rescued from an attack by a Borg cube, but then accidentially incinerated in a freakish, painful and long drawnout ( 3/4 of the episode ) mishap involving the transporter and half a tonne of thermite. The end of the Episode has Jean Luke smiling to someone and saying *real pleasure in voice* "Well done, number one, now, back through the warp, and we might catch the last few overs of the cricket".

IIRC, Shades of Gray was that awful flashback/clip fest with Riker dying in sick bay. Seems like that was another season 2 monsterturd theater. Reason for that is the writers strike that occured that season. Only good thing about the 2nd season writers strike was the incredible 3rd season we received to make up for the dreck of season 2.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

I really like TNG. but i can't stand DS9, the other one on Spike. I'm watching them all for the first time. Luckily, the started over from Season 1 recently. I haven't seen any voyager or TOS, though.

Oh yeah, In Hotel Royale. The astronaut guy was on the THIRD ship to try to leave the solar system from 2039. i think that was a bit optimistic even for 1989.

[rassberry]

Sure, and I transposed two letters.

I have dispatched the scent-wargs. Might I suggest an airborne retreat, and an industrial strength de-odourant.
