Why don't one of you who thinks the moon landings were a hoax go up to Neil Armstrong or Gene Cernan or one of the other remaining moon walkers and call them liars.
Bob DeWoody

Thank you both qso1, and CalliArcale for your informatable replies. You both really tried to give me somethings to go on and answered each of my questions with professionalism.

I still have an open mind to the issue though. I guess it's hard to PROOVE things to me when I have skeptism. I do have an open mind though, and I'm always willing to change my mind when prooved... wrong...

When they link those ESO telescopes, hopefully we can see some foot prints, a flag or some equipment the astronaunts used as undeniable proof, we sent men to walk on the moon.

I can see though that once skeptism comes into play in anything... that it can be harder for the person that is skeptic to believe the truth, even when there seems plenty enough "circumstantial evidence" provided.

I don't think I'm arrogant though, just suspicious. What a fine line togther those two things can draw though, ha?

SPACEINVADOR:
I still have an open mind to the issue though...

Me:
Thanks for your thoughtful queries and being candid enough to be open to either possibility. My whole take is that nothing conslusive enough to prove a hoax argument has emerged. While at the same time I recognize I never went myself to obtain 100% proof.

Your currently in a position that practically begs you to go to the moon to see for yourself when you say "Till prooved wrong". Or at least till the ESO telescopes are linked. Even when they are, I don't think the resolution will be good enough to see footprints. Probably just be able to tell the LM ascent stage is manmade.

SPACEINVADOR"
I don't think I'm arrogant though, just suspicious. What a fine line togther those two things can draw though, ha?

Me:
I didn't think you arrogant and when one is kind of undecided as to what evidence they find more convincing, it is hard to draw a line through.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. nope, unless all the astronauts are telling porkies, which I dont believe they are. all those thousands of resourceful and intelligent people working on the project could not have all been duped, not withstanding the fact that all the supposed bollocks about radiation and picture anomolies etc... can be proved to be wrong, wrong, wrong! but people love a good conspiracy!

That video is hilarious, kbsc78!!

I wonder if there are some nutcases out there who also believe that STS-121 is a hoax?

----------------------------------

My minds have many opinions

I recently ran across one. But for the most part, I don't think HBs think about it beyond Apollo 11. The only reason the person I mentioned thought shuttle flights were faked was that I asked if we didn't go to the moon, how are shuttle missions faked?

This because of our stair step cautious approach to spaceflight which makes it highly unlikely any mission was real if Apollo was not. The HBs here seem to all be basing their conclusions on the Fox video or a couple of conspiracy web vids. They don't consider that we'd have to take small steps such as Mercury, Gemini, before undertaking Apollo. Or that its all based on well understood laws of physics as opposed to curing cancer which is poorly understood as its much more complicated than aeronautical engineering.

One guy I talked to thought that all the landings were real except the first one. This makes no sense because if one could do the rest, why couldn't they do the first?

And one right here a few posts ago said "There was no live coverage". I saw coverage when it was originally aired and in the case of later Apollo missions with improved camera capability, the coverage was long enough to look for obvious studio shoot edit points etc.

I can't say 100% that man landed on the moon without going myself. But I've invested a lot of time studying more than one or two vids or listening to what someone else tells me and it appears man walked on the moon. Most HBs do not invest anywhere near as much effort in proving their cases as evidenced by the lame a** responses I see here. The HBs who do invest time and research are selling books, vids, etc and much of their research has been shown to be flawed.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. The moon flights did in fact, take place. The Soviets would have spotted a hoax right away and would not have allowed America to take credit for a technological achievement that put the Soviets to shame had it not happened.

In fact, the Soviets confirmed that America did in fact land on the moon.
