Origin of dinosaur-ending asteroid possibly found. And it's dark.

By Mara Johnson-Groh - Live Science Contributor

"Simulating over hundreds of millions of years, the model showed thermal forces and gravitational tugs from planets periodically slingshotting large asteroids out of the belt. On average, an asteroid more than 6 miles wide from the outer edge of the belt was flung into a collision course with Earth once every 250 million years, the researchers found. This calculation makes such an event five times more common than previously thought and consistent with the Chicxulub crater created just 66 million years ago, which is the only known impact crater thought to have been produced by such a large asteroid in the last 250 million years. Furthermore, the model looked at the distribution of "dark" and "light" impactors in the asteroid belt and showed half of the expelled asteroids were the dark carbonaceous chondrites, which matches the type thought to have caused Chicxulub crater."

Before you even think about moving which planet where, just figure out roughly the energy requirement to move any planet to a different orbit, and tell us where this energy is coming from.
I have another idea. Set up a series of Moons, so that these will protect Earth from any impactor. Maybe blow up Mars into exactly Moon shaped bits and let these float towards the Sun. Of course the increased mass will pull the Earth/Moons system towards the Sun. So by destroying Earth/Moons we will increase the life pf the Sun, so the human race will be better off. And . . . . . . . . . don't forget, the same result will follow from your planetary machinations.

My main motivation was to have more than one habitable world in our solar system at the same time. Give the Earth's biosphere a break until we can heal her

For some cases, saving O2 might be not so difficult. Phytoplankton is producing 50% of it. Also poaching ban showed effectiveness (in 1986, the International Whaling Commission (IWC)).
While preparing Mars missions we find and use harsh conditions on Earth.
It could solve two purposes: Mars/Moon colonization and populating Earth reclaimed territories.
Is it necessary be '1' or '0'. Surviving our best on Earth and hard working on other planets colonization.
I would think, a firm data container to save all of these could be sent to the best candidate for survival till we are capable.
