I really loved SG-1. Until Richard Dean Anderson made is exit, that is.

Jack O'Neill to me, was the glue that held the show together. I guess for the "uninitiated", Bringing Ben Browder and Claudia Black onboard was okay, but having been a Farscape fan, its appeal to me centered a lot around the interaction between Browder and Black.

SciFi probably figured that if they translated that into SG-1, that it might degrade the show, but certain chemistry can't be recovered or substituted for.

And as much as I adore Amanda Tapping (she's the ultimate "girl-next-door"), she doesn't have the juice to carry SG-1 OR SGA, IMO.

The final season of SG-1 was almost work for me to watch. I personally think it would have been better to let that series go after RDA's departure.

At least in my opinion, Jack O'Neill WAS SG-1, and no substitute would do.

By way of comparison, as a fan of the original Star Trek, I can't imagine another Captain of the Enterprise that was not James T. Kirk.

I watch SGA, and have actually come to enjoy it to a degree, but I think the producers are missing an opportunity by not tying it in to happenings back home on Earth and its situation.

I think the whole Replicator story line leads the show into an inescapable dead end. But I've become fond of some of the actors.

John Sheppard has a Jack O'Neill feel to him. Rodney McKay has grown on me. Tayla.... Oh, Tayla. What a total babe. A hot woman with her stuff totally together.

"2012.. Year of the Dragon!! Get on the Dragon Wagon!".
