I'll give you that. Two SSMEs at the top, centre at the bottom. I remember asking SG once about that...if there was ever a point of the design phase that had it in that formation, and I believe he said no.

The 747 looks more like a 707.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Yeah, that's what i was trying to say. But i couldn't quite tell from that angle if there was an extra one or not...

Ok, that is a weird detail... almost like the 2-engine orbiters in Moonraker. The other thing I noticed is that the SCA on both the bronze and color models have the regular tail, without the extra vertical fins on the tips of the horizontal stabilizer.

No mate, check out the first picture in this thread, you should be able to make out the tail fins (I just cut them off in the close up photo )

Ah, ok, I see that now, but still, not on that crazy-engined bronze one

Yeah, the Bronze one doesn't have any...maybe that's why it's flying at an angle

The fact that the orbiter is attached to the SCA in only 1 position looks rather strange to me.

I've got this picture on my wall from my 1996 trip to KSC. It's a time I'll never forget and I hope to repeat it in a year or two.

One Percent of Federal Funding For Space: America CAN Afford it!! LEO is a Prison -- It's time for a JAILBREAK!!

For authenticity, SRB sep is probably nominal functioning of that pen.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!
