I still haven't set up the bar formally so a few of the models are just sitting around. One day, though....<br /><br />Not exactly US shuttle... but if the Soviet connection counts, an Energia booster (along with an Energia-M). In the background under the half-finished Vertol on the shelf are two tiles from Buran.

He had four flights before he went on STS-95, so I guess that's when the article's from. There's a whole lot of interviews on google about that flight. The actual NASA webpage was about number 9 or so on the first page.

I am so envious of all this *stuff*.<br /><br />I was never much of a modeler, so the only things I've got are memories. They include: watching the Saturn Vs take off on black-and-white television. Looking up at the moon as a nine-year-old boy, and reflecting on the fact that there were actually people up there *doing* stuff. Walter Cronkite holding -- and discussing -- models of Apollo hardware. Running to get my mother -- and arriving back in the living room in time to watch the dust blow up on the lunar landscape and the screen turn to black as the Eagle rotated -- and came to rest at Tranquility.<br /><br />They're marvelous memories. But I'd still kill for one of those Saturn V models. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /><br /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <font color="#0000ff"><strong>Just tell the truth and let the chips fall...</strong></font> </div>

I'm 33 and never had the pleasure of the Saturn V and Apollo stuff....but everytime I see a picture of a Saturn V I'm in awe.

It's amazing how you can feel the power of that thing even through a mere picture, isn't it? every time i see this image, it really gives off the feel of the rocket...

Hm... this lego space shuttle won't fit in the scanner. I wonder why!<br />I made a GIANT Lego Space station once. I tried to be fairly accurate, but it's hard with Rectangular Legos. I had to take it apart recently...
