Well this thread only served to make me look like the Shuttle Geek out of all of us.

Surely someone's got a mock launch pad in their back garden, or a coverted their garage into an OPF?

Enterprise... at Stansted Airport

I was there... 1983. We lived in Essex at the time and cycled to Stansted just to watch Enterprise fly in from (I think) France.

(will try to see if I can locate the pics..)

Here's my PC at home. The rusty light is from Apollo Launch Umbilical Tower #1, there is also a swing arm bolt and a KSC mouse mat. I have a flown shuttle tile in the other room.

Sounds great, if anyone is interested in launch complex models, a friend of mine is just about to release a range in hi fidelity brass etched, should be incredible.

Please go to www.launchcomplexmodels.com but maybe wait a few hours as it seems to be down right now, he's in Merrit Island FL.

I've got this really nice poster of shuttle Discovery lifting off. I couldn't believe the detail when I saw it. A neighbor of mine gave it to me. He got it though a company he works for; Thiokal I think.

If anyone on here is going to have cool Shuttle stuff, it's got to be SG

Mind you, what's cooler than working with them! That's what I'd call a winning hand.

That's so cool...
There's an atronaut from a town up the road here. Col. Curtis Brown. He flew on the STS-95 with John glenn. Came and talked at the local university. My friend and I went and met him. It was really cool.

hm... I thought i remembered him saying 6, too. That's strange. It was a few years ago, just after Columbia, i believe.
Naturally, he said he would be more than happy to take the next flight if it were tomorrow.
