And I agree, for every guy who ran to another country instead of staying to fulfill his obligation, another guy had to go in his place.<br /><br />For those who may consider dodging the draft, or running to Canada, “conscientious objection”, remember this. At that time, the draft (Selective Service) was the <b>law</b>. Evading the draft, regardless of your beliefs, was a criminal offense. Returning to the USA after the war was over was blatant hypocrisy. Those who want to accept the benefits of living in America, without assuming the responsibilities, are hypocrites, and don’t deserve to live here.
