Replying to:

Weird coincidence, though. A car Casey had access to tests positive for chloroform, AND her computer was used recently to research chloroform and it's effects. For an individual that comes across as a 'lax' parent with an active 2 going on 3 year old, finding evidence of research on chemicals with sedative properties, those same chemicals in a car with confirmed embarrassing corpse odor, that same active kid not having been seen alive by anyone for a couple of months now, a grandmother clearly, profoundly psychologically disturbed, a retired ex-cop grandfather with an apparent self inflicted lobotomy, and it all adds up to . . . murder, most foul !! Hell, they had less evidence on Bundy, and they fried his arse. Posted by coeptus

Well, I had to check suspicions on something on chloroform before I made my post. So, that search is in there, somewhere.. It's referrenced by this thread and that's why I looked.

The thing is, for a baby like that, chloroform wouldn't be necessary at all. Heck, a couple of doses of benadryl would probably do it. I dunno, maybe she's not that smart.

The point on the solvents was that maybe she used some solvent based cleaners in the trunk that may have either formed chloroform in small amounts when reacting with other products OR caused a false hit. I don't know what detection methods they used so can't speak knowledgably regarding the possibility of a false hit.

Did they ever find the mystery "baby sitter" that she said she left the baby with?

The whole "Chloroform" in the trunk with probable evidence of a decaying body doesn't make sense. You could certainly OD someone on chloroform if used improperly and that would be easy to do with a baby that weighs next to nothing. But, why leave it in the trunk afterwards or why use chloroform on a baby in the first place?

(I have heard of mothers going crazy with the "Screaming Baby" syndrome. I suppose she could have been looking for some quick-fix for such a thing and ended up OD'ing her baby THEN sticking her in the trunk. But, that doesn't make a lot of sense either. Then again, if she was bonkers to begin with, or just really stupid, I shouldn't expect rational behavior.)

I put on my robe and wizard hat...
