Comcast/Fancast/Hulu Unveils Full TV Episodes of SF Classics - ONLINE!

Comcast, in cooperation with Hulu, is broadcasting FULL LENGTH Television Series episodes ONLINE!What does this mean, you ask?Well, you get FULL LENGTH episodes of these following Science Fiction based shows, among others: (A list of ones I can recognize as being Sci-Fi) **Note: I don't know if you need a Comcast ISP or not to get permissions to access this list.  But, anyone can access HULU.com which does provide some great Sci-Fi shows/Movies: http://www.hulu.com/ (Also, this has even more full-length stuff: http://www.fancast.com/full_episodes but I didn't go through its list, one was enough for now.) Great story, if someone weird.Galactica: 1980 - Uh, would have to be free 'cause nobody would pay for it.  But, it's there.Land of the Giants - Oh wow!  I loved this show when I was a kid!Lost - Haven't seen much of it but, it's sci-fi/fantasy like.Lost in Space - Here you go, diehard LiS fans!Night Gallery - Horror/compilation  Another classic.Roswell - I never saw it but, it's sci-fi.Sanctuary - Here for the viewing if you missed an episode.Sliders - YES! Awesome show that takes a bit of getting used to.  But, good.Smallville - Never saw it.  But, sci-fi fantasy for sure.Star Trek (TOS) - YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Swamp Thing - Wasn't a fan.  But, it's there.The Outer Limits - YES!!  Sci-fi/horror/fantasy classic!The Time Tunnel - Wow!  Another one I saw as a kid!The Twilight Zone - !!!!  WOW!Total Recall 2070 - Never saw it.  But, it's there.Tremors:The Series - dittoTwin Peaks - Sci-fi/horror/fantasy/twin-peaksish  Entertaining but impossible to follow without every show.  Looks like it a fairly complete lineup though.V - !! LOL, if you want to catch up on "V" for the upcoming re-release, here it is!Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea - !! Posted by Saiph</DIV>Oh, I gots ports!My problem is that I'd have to get my feed across the room and down the hall in order to get to my bedroom (closest functioning TV).  I could use a sort of study/library right next to me but the TV in there is sort of old and not one I've used in years.  It's an old floor model.. I've been meaning to get rid of it but, to be honest, I don't look forward to manhandling it down the stairs even though I was the one who carried it up here to begin with .. /flex..I think I'll need to go wireless, maybe dig up an old 900mhz+ extension system like mee-n-mac posted.  I don't want Micro$oft though.. /ptuiOr, I could just check out how much cable I'd need.  I could probably rig cat-5 cable to s-video connectors instead of buying a buttload of s-vid cable. (Expensive)  Considering the source quality, I wouldn't have to worry there.  I really wouldn't mind sitting on a couch otherwise relaxing while watching a marathon of my favorite tv-shows one afternoon.

I've been with Hulu since it first started and have been spreading the word. Enjoying the sci-fi shows there. Never saw any black-and-white Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea until now. Time Tunnel is a scream! Missed that when I was a kid because it was up against The Wild, Wild West on Friday nights. Go Hulu! I wish they'd include some westerns. Lost in Space always my favorite Irwin Allen show. Enjoying The Night Gallery. Missed that in prime-time as it was up against Mannix on CBS, which my dad liked. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

Posted by jim48</DIV>There were really some great stories back then.  Sure, the sci-fi tech was sort of goofy by today's standards.  Even some of the principles they relied on to tell the story don't have much merit.  But, they're still great stories anyway!Outer Limits and similar shows back then remind me that a truly good story doesn't have to have a lot of bells and whistles that are firmly ground in science or even logic.  I watched an episode, Outer Limits I think, awhile back ago that dealt with some men marooned on another planet.  One of them discovered a miniature "alien" culture complete with little models of buildings and a river, etc..  It was really hokey.  Anyway, conflict between he and the other survivor developed and he finally elected to remain alone with his miniature civilization because he wanted to be a "god."  He had them slaving away, building a monolith (to them) in his image only to end up dying after being trampled on by an equally huge alien explorer.No matter how big you think you are, there's probably someone out there bigger than you.  It's a good idea not to place too much importance on being "big."

I watched an episode, Outer Limits I think, awhile back ago that dealt with some men marooned on another planet.  One of them discovered a miniature "alien" culture complete with little models of buildings and a river, etc..  It was really hokey.  Anyway, conflict between he and the other survivor developed and he finally elected to remain alone with his miniature civilization because he wanted to be a "god."  He had them slaving away, building a monolith (to them) in his image only to end up dying after being trampled on by an equally huge alien explorer. That sounds like a Twilight Zone episode to me.  I was an Outer Limits addict, and I don't remember any such story. Wiki has a detailed list of all the original series episodes.  My favorites were "A Feasibility Study" and "The Inheritors": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controlled_Experiment#Season_1_.281963-1964.29You are right, however, in that that series had top-notch scripts and outstandingly talented actors, and could provide great entertainment without a big special effects budget. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

What helped that show was being in black-and-white, like The Twilight Zone. Great show for late, late at night. Sure special effects were a crap-shot back then on all of those shows; sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. Fun stuff. I think I'll watch a couple of Land of the Giants and let you know what I think! I just watched a Time Tunnel where they were back in 1910 as Halley's comet approached.
