Hey, talking about the Master is not thread hijacking. ;-)

And yes, a woman picked up his ring at the end of Series Three. And we heard his evil laughter! But I did not notice it being the same ring that Donna wore. Hmmm..... Interesting!!!!

I don't think it'll be David Morrisey. I understand the Christmas special is based on an audio play called "The One Doctor", and while I don't know what happened in it, the other Doctor is apparently not the same one as the one we've all gotten to know and love. Or something. It should be interesting, anyway. ;-)

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Me and the GF watched the clip with Matt Smith the other day and are both cautiously optimistic that he is going to make a good Doctor.
I'm excited, but not because of anything to do with Matt Smith -- I know nothing about him apart from the Youtube clips. He does seem to have a good attitude, and he certainly impressed Steven Moffat (who reportedly had been actively seeking someone in his 40s, so he had to have impressed Moffat a *lot* to overcome the age bias). The main reason I'm excited is that this is about more Doctor Who in 2010. Yay!

:-D

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Just Tennant? Heh, that's nothing. I've got most of the entire run of Doctor Who on video, minus the ones lost to the BBC's archive purge. (Doctor Who wasn't supposed to have been purged, but somebody got a bit overzealous and several serials went into the incinerator before anyone realized.) So if Smith isn't very good, I've got a fallback plan.
"Deadly Assassin" is apparently coming out on DVD this year. I can't wait! ;-) That's one of my favorites. It's a classic now, and vital to understanding the Time Lords -- but was really not well liked at the time, with fans castigating it for mucking around so much with the Doctor's story. Funny how things repeat themselves, isn't it? ;-)

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
