Does anyone know about the site enterprisemission.com? It has now been referenced by two users, one along with "Hoagland", a word/name I'm familiar with as a pejorative word here ("Hoagland Wars"). If some one could enlighten me to both, I would appreciate it!

Oh, and if you search on "http://www.enterprisemission.com", the Google search result says this:

The Enterprise Mission
Cialis sale. Online Pharmacy Store. Cheapest Drugrs for sale. No prescription needed. 24/7 support service. FDA Approved drugs.
www.enterprisemission.com/ - Cached - Similar

I ended up deleting the first comment I saw with this link b/c of the Cialis etc stuff (not sure what is up with that). We do not want to send users to a place that has this kind of stuff in its metadata or whatever.

enterprisemission.com is Hoaglands (He's a freakin wacky woo woo who rips people off who believe that the face on Mars is alien architecture) site. If they are now have Cialis ads, how fitting, since he's such a {BBZZZRTTTttRewrrf}

I'll try the e-m site to see of that comes up naturally (haha, get it} or if maybe someone has used that link name but connected to somewhere else.

Wow, it almost looks like his site has been hacked. I mean, he's a woo-woo, but the stuff on that site is not what he would normally post.

So I'd at the very least Limbo any posts that currently send users there, and possibly ban the user if we can determine they are the same people who hacked Hoagland's site.

oh now you have done it! by removing that link you have reignited the Hoagland Wars, as this will be seen as an attempt to cover up the truth. by a space.com administrator, no less.

as for the Cialis, well, even conspiracy theorists need to pay for their websites.

some of the mods are much more familiar with the Hoagland history on these boards than I, but for background:

Noooo! I blame it on teh drugz (the cialis crap and such that the haxxor3 (sorry, drwayne) inserted). In all seriousness, I do not want to send our users there, either here in the forums or in the comments. So yes, if you see any links to there, please Limbo them.

I'll check out the wikipedia article, thanks!

I'm going with the site hack theory. Buried way down there is this:

"Special References for Visitors From Space. COM"

Verrrrry suspicious.

Was this link in article comments or on one of the forum sites.

Pretty ironic if someone has hacked his site to make him look even more foolish than he has been for decades :)

Howver, not good that the source appears to be from someone who posted/comment on SPace.com and is directing people to the hacked site.

Trust me, he's a woo-woo, but not at the level of the crap that is on his site now. He actually believes his wacky theories, and they are just as deluded, but much less wacky.

Very odd, this business mentioning Space.com. I've eliminated both comments containing the URL, too. Wayne, would you be willing to go back and take a screen shot and send it to my community address? I'd like to see it, but don't want to leave my particular IP address on the site.

Looks like they are aware of the hacking. I did a search on "enterprise mission hacked" and this came up in the search results:

The Enterprise Mission
Our website has been hacked, some of our associates computer systems have ...
www.enterprisemission.com/tale.htm

OK, I have captured a .bmp of the section with the reference to space.com and will e-mail it to you.

It would take at least 20 screen shots or more to capture the whole current front page of the hacked site. If you need more, let me know.

Hoagland is a woo woo of the highest order.

I have had many of my images hijacked & used on the enterprisemission.com, most recently AFAIK the Asteroid 2867 Steins slide I did linked below. He reckons my work helps proves it is an alien spaceship.

It has happened so many times now, I've given up trying to stop it, but I feel as though I have been taken advantage of to promote his wacko theories.

My Slide he used

Ugh, so sorry to hear he stole your image, Andrew. Unethical on his part.

Thanks Meg,

My imagery has been used many times by Hoagland to promote his stupid brain dead whacko theories. I do these to promote science & planetary exploration on this site & I have sent some to both NASA & ESA, always getting great responses, well from NASA anyway.

I object to them being lifted & used to promote woo woo fantasies. I am convinced either Hoagland himself or one of his associates lurk on Space.Com anonymously from time to time.

How else could the enterprisemission.com host work that I have done, some takes quite some time & effort to do, without my consent or Imaginova's consent for that matter. Imaginova has my full consent to use my material, it's part of the Terms of Service after all & know that Imaginova is a credible company, but having work plagiarised, to fuel someone's fantasies about abandoned alien spacecraft in the Asteroid Belt, etc, quite frankly upsets & annoys me.

Andrew Brown.

Hoagland is definitely a grade-a woo. He's also been caught stealing material from other sources. One of the more amusing was when he stole almost the entire content of a site debunking common "Apollo hoax" myths. You wouldn't think Hoagie would be on NASA side with Apollo, but he has to defend Apollo, because otherwise he can't make his claim that NASA airbrushed out pictures of huge crystalline cities in the background of Apollo pics. :D

His biggest "claim to fame" is that he's the guy who actually started the whole Face on Mars nonsense.

Hey, I remember reading about that years ago! I always thought it was kind of nutty.

It is nutty, and he's the guy whose been promoting it all along.

That's why I was shocked that the hacker were able to make his site too nutty even for him. That's no easy task!!!

There does seem to be an effect (at least on TV), where a "fringe scientist" who has been around long
enough achieves a certain "elder statesman" gravitas. That seems to be happening here.

Wayne

p.s. Is it possible that some of the fingies think that he as gone two "main stream"?
