Fresh Himawari 8, Stale DSCOVR?

I'm happy to see DSCOVR is back on line.

I've always been curious about something.

Why are images from DSCOVR's EPIC camera always a day old?

I argue with flat Earthers on YouTube, and it would be nice to tell them to go outside and check the weather they see against images from DSCOVR.

Himawari 8 images appear to be close to real time. Why aren't DSCOVR's?
