Do you have found, rlb2, any images where the white powdery stuff dissapeared ? That would
be interesting to see.

When I checked it out before, it was in one image and not in another one. I didn't know if that was from
the lighting or what. I'll keep an eye open for it, a before and after image of the same area may do.
Spectra readings would confirm this.

Like you I am hurting for time - my honey-do list is
enormous.

1P158369042EFFL5M1
Ron Bennett

The meteorite?? Petrified brain?

From Oppy, Sol 339 (L3, L5 & L6 filters):

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Here is a different angle, filters and lighting look at it. It looks like it may have been a part of the heat shield
that didn't make it through the atmosphere without melting.

1P158898208ESFL5M1
Ron Bennett

I'd be very surprised if this object was part of the heat shield. I see no evidence of any kind of impact that would be associated with such a scenario.

Anyway, here's a zoomed in view:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. I was thinking it may have been made out of light materials and made a couple of bounces before finally plopping down?

I do hope your right. It would be cool to see two alien objects sitting side by side photograph and analyzed
by yet another alien object on an alien world.

Ron Bennett

Here's a new view of Oppy's heatshield from Sol 339 (L2, L5 & L6) filters:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.
