My believe is that todays techniques won't get us where we wan't to go...
What other techniques do you see in your chrystal ball?

Brgds / IW

Conservation of momentum might have something to say about that.

OT. This is a fun topic... but not really the right place for it.

Now, don't let us rush away... I don't believe in gyros in general just as You people doesn't. So what other options is there? We have all read about the piers but are those something that is a part of reality? I am not so sure about that. What if one of theese cracked for some reason, 100km's will be burried if it doesn't crack into parts which will leave us with only (lets assume) a 25 km disaster zone.

Well, if I knew I wouldn't have asked the question.

Anything else than fraud and high towers? / IW

Hmmm, I am still in the wrong forum - please continue in the business & technology forum! Sorry about the inconvenience!
Ok nacnud.

It MIGHT work when we are in LEO but what I'm intrested in is more on how to get up there from our earthly garage!

Brgds / IW

Hehe... Sticky, aint I ;-)

propforce!

Isn't this exactly what we are aiming at? If we take all these laws for granted we won't ever look back to see if our great leaders did a mistake! Just as in todays business world. Do we really give second oppinions to our bosses?

Brgds / IW

It's only human even if it isn't quite the right thing to neglect!

No, these methods won't do it in an environmental way. We have to break a law or somehow get around it. How is the graal.

Now, go out there and solve this and we are an space inhabiting specie!

Brgds / IW (one who will try)
No, these methods won't do it in an environmental way.

Three of them are powered by electricity which could be generated enviromentaly if you wish.

It sound as though you just want to conjure up impossible physics because it would be cool. Grow up buy a text book and learn instead.

Please nacnud!

Would you put your eggs in the light propulsion "rocket" or the "gun shot"?
The zeppelines lighter than air hasn't even been in my thinking - probably they will just stop climbing when air gets too thin. The space pier could work but it's expensive beyond comprehension - but I'll give you credit on this one even if I heavilly doubt it will ever be realized! I mean how strong is wind in reality? What forces is put on the structure?

Brgds / IW

I mean how strong is wind in reality? What forces is put on the structure?

If you delve further into the link it is all there. Wind challanges. Sorry if I'm a bit curt but alot of people come on here wishing for 'star trek' physics. Propellantless drives is one of those oxymorons like antigravity or pepetual motion.

No offense taken nacnud!

This is the witchcraft of today so one has to be careful! I'm just probing for new ideas... And hopefully pushing someone further cross the border! My small gift to humanity.

Brgds / IW
Thanks for your hints crix but that was a bit to far out :)

So, massive blowouts of organic fuels is the way to go. Is that your oppinion?

Actually I didn't bother to look for eldras in their forums... Don't you think it would be a waste of time?
Brgds / IW

It could be away to get to the moon from LEO!

But my main interrest is to get up to LEO from sealevel and I understand that organic fuels or preferably O & H is the fuels to use for the moment but there has to be another way without giving ones hopes to the wizards...

This of course implies that we need wizards to accomplish what I'm looking for ;-)

Brgds / IW

I think we all would like to see the "Star Trek" like physics come to be but if we are to have such a future, its still many decades or even centuries away.

Imagination is the first step but many steps must yet be taken and we generally have to have a driving reason (Cold war, Impending catastrophe) to get us motivated. By us, this means society in general, most of which could give a frunk less about getting to Mars, much less the stars.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. Those who make it happen, those who watch it happen...and those who do not know what happened.

Breakthroughs generally happen when someone exploits something current science considers to be "an anomaly". So start learning modern physics and look for the stuff that's being ignored or swept under the rug.

I found schematics of Dutch black project, secret military propellantless single-stage-to-orbit launcher.
