This is probably stretching it, but what if planets like Earth are really rare? And as we already know, intelligient life is a rare thing. Now with all this, say that other intelligient species from other parts of the galaxy actually capture and sale real estates like Earth. Earth is extremely rich in resources and life. Like Hawking said, we should hang low and chill out until we have much better capabilities of protecting and ensuring the survival of our species. <br /><br /> All in all, when we have explored enough of space. We will have found maybe thousands of planets, but few Earth like planets. And many other life froms too. And I'm sure we will find other civilizations willing to trade with us.
