The old SDC had several wonderful threads of discussion. Many of them had resulted in breakthroughs in our collective understanding of the universe around us.

Now, it is up to all of us to reconstruct this great resource. To this end, let's employ one of the great psycological breakthroughs of our time: recovered memories.

Please post some of your favorite SDC theories here.

Most of the rocks imaged by the Spirit lander are fossils.

Oh good god I'd forgotten about the electric sun/universe threads from way back. I remember arguing with whoever it was that was posting those theories for a few days before giving up on it.

Ahh, I forgot about the antropic principle threads (that's what they're called).

I'd say the BB debate thread..but they're way to many to consider singly.

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

That's an Oldie all right! It's before my time back in 2001.

How about those oceans on mars cg graphics what's his name made, removed, reposted, and everyone argued over for 40 pages?

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Oh you mean the great G_Webber? Not only did he like his mars oceans but also his comet planetary nucleus "theory" and his 10 km martian creature.

exactly. I skimmed those mostly, in efforts to keep it civil. there was a lot of give and take in that thread! quite impressive how close to melt down it would get without ever quite getting there.

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

the thread called "you are paged yales" or something like that, revealing dingo's rogue intrusion theory.

The Titan unveiled thread was a very good source of info. Hope this will b e resumed.

Also, voyagerwsh's Europa thread (I think it was his)

"The Future of our Sun related to the Andromeda collision"

It would die for months, and then paulharth would resurrect it yet again.

But there have been really good threads as well, such as "missing photon energy", "Urban Astronomy" (there is now Urban Astronomy II, thankfully!), "Want to know why the moon is moving away?", and more.

Don't forget the classic thread on the 10-km sized horse fossil which lied along an old riverbead on Mars. And, the fossil was at risk of falling in and being lost.....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I really, really, really miss the "first unread post" function.
