Thanks astrowikizhang,<br /><br />Finally got round to reading the article you linked to properly. That is very nicely presented. <br /><br />The difference appears to be about 4,000 metres between the rim & the <br />central plains of Mare Orientale, with a differnence in excess of 6,000 metres with the<br />Cordilerra Mountains added to the data, which means of course their summits average 4,000 metres<br />above the lunar reference.<br /><br />It will be really interesting when the entire Moon is mapped like this, together with the TC.<br /><br />Andrew Brown. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080">"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world.
