And let me make a comment.

Even though the forecast was only for a 30% chance of acceptable weather, since it's only a 10 minute window, you go ahead and load the shuttle, and take your chances.

Nice job to the ECO repair engineers and crew.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Beautiful launch! I especially liked the p.o.v. from the last booster rocket after it detached.

I'm a recovering optimist - things could be better.

MeteorWayne,

Hats off to everyone at the Cape, what a splendid launch! Wonderful that the weather worked out, I was sure it would be a scrub today.

Thank you to shuttle_guy and all of his compatriots!
The secret to peace of mind is a short attention span.

As Atlantis has launched, I am locking this thread. Please use the thread (1E) STS 122 Post Launch Mission thread for continued coverage of this mission.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
