If an alien spacecraft landed in your backyard, what would be your first question?

Who are you?

Where are you from?

Not me. My first question is how in the heck did you get here?
It hasn't happened that way. Have you read or seen some of the films like the ones about the Hills or Travis Walton? Do you think they made them up? They're pretty imaginative if not true. Maybe they're not true, but I find them believable. Are there any logical inconsistencies in their stories?

Let's agree to disagree.

I have zero doubt, given the vastness of the Universe that intelligent life exists elsewhere. That is a belief that I can't prove. I can use logic and math to support my position, but not actual proof.

President Carter may have inquired and learned nothing. Same for all since, and some before, him.
logic and math is proof, so tell me what is your logic and see if I can't refute it, and what math, you mean the vastness of the universe. Yes, according to relativity but some are claiming there might be some flaws in Einstein's theory -- do you deny that?

Actually, I think you are, in denial.

I mean, can anyone explain why these people are testifying to Congress when the act of doing so, does not benefit them in any way? Why tell lies that will hurt yourself? Either they're crazy or we're crazy for believing they're crazy.

I cannot prove nothing is being hidden.

Many people truly believe they saw ET. I have no problem with that. I will not denounce them. It does not convince me though.

Many people are trying to be the first person to prove that ET exists. A Nobel Prize would be sufficient motivation to lie about it.

Just tell me what the government is hiding and then maybe I'll be satisfied. The fact that they are, gives up the ghost so to speak. If there was nothing to hide, they wouldn't be hiding it.
Do the math. Number of observed galaxies and their stars and their planets, numbers so large they are beyond comprehension. Logic would suggest we are not unique. Intelligent life is likely out there, somewhere.

Your argument assumes there is something to hide. How do you hide what isn't there?

How do you prove a negative?

Why won't you accept that the government is hiding something. It's blatantly obvious. When they release reports that have huge sections of text redacted, what do you call that. Did they give them to a kindergarten class to color maybe?
There is nothing to share. Redactions are normal. Depending on the nature of the material, it could be something as simple as personal information.

Have you ever seen documents provided by a FOIA request? If so, you likely saw redactions. Doesn't mean something is being hidden.

There are other threads regarding this general topic. All end the same way.

Feel free to read through those.

You want to believe, so believe. It's all good.

Just doesn't mean it is real. Sorry.
