Not.

The meaning of "Singularity" is "where our understanding of the physics of it breaks down." This is term is known in both mathematics and physics.

The expression of mass in spacetime leading to gravitational force is not entirely known as yet, but there is no math/physics singularity there. We reasonably well understand how it works, and are gaining new insight daily.

Wrt to a physical Singularity, we do not know what occurs beneath the event horizon; our physics break down. Thus, "Singularity."

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

kyle_baron ! Singularities come in more than one configuration ie. naked( spinning and non-spinning). after all gravity is propagated thruogh space-time as a change in space-time, due to relative change in energy in the originating source, it could be a naked singularity undergoing a change in spin. Just think about it.

Yevaud ! Mr. Stephen Hawking lost a bet to Mr. Kipp Thorne over constructing a naked singularity, however this does not indicate naked singularities exist in reality, however Mr. Penrose ( Mr. Twistor)and the work done by others in the "M" theory may fine branes that exist in lower spacial dimensions rotating and non-rotating interesting they could take on similarity to twistors.

*Ahem*

That's "Twistor." And Penrose gave up on it many years ago.

Also, Hawking's bet with Thorne had nothing whatsoever to do with the appearance of a Naked Singularity (which is literally, a Singularity without an event horizon). It involved the Information Paradox (can any information escape from beneath the event horizon?).

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

We are really shooting in the dark here are we not?

The scientists of the late 19th and early 20th century seemed to have been searching for an elusive element (particle or force) that would account for gaps in their understanding of the universe. From that came the motivation that produced the great theories and inventions of the time.

I think that element is still missing, but may be found in the experiments to slow and stop light, where if the right thing is slowed or the right combination of things are combined with that method something will sparkle, or maybe just the opposite; things will go dark.

Did I fall off the beam? If that is too general I am thinking specifically of the scientists Tesla and Einstein, and I know some people would rather that the two names not be used in the same sentence.

DenniSys.com

Mass is a naked singularity in space-time, with no event horizon, because the mass can be seen with the property of light.

Space itself, may be causing the particles to spin (temperature may be the reason), instead of a particle spinning by itself (internally and intrinsically). From this point, gravity may precipitate. If it sounds like I'm babbling on, I'm just speculating here.

Nothing wrong with speculating. That's where new ideas come from. It may upset the "scientific purists", but who cares?

I've edited my previous post and gave a reason for a particles spin being external. It could be the result of the temperature of space. At 0 Deg.K, all movement stops.

I respect Newton and Einstein's theories. And yes I know that they are highly respected for their work. But I should have the right to question their judgement because they guess at it just like some future scientist will and that's why I said it just "floating about" And that's why I mentioned such statements. If Newton and Einstein were wrong then so be it. Even geniuses can be wrong.

And for two, I just thought pressure had something to do with it. I didn't say it was the cause. The push and pull of atoms against each other creates gravity. When this occures at a very fast rate you have what is called a solid, if this occures as a slighting faster rate then you have a gas. When this occures at a slower rate you have a liquid. When you have all of these states of matter occuring at once against the core of the earth and the core spinning, exerting its own force back the atomic structure constantly breaks down and rebuilds. So a force(A) against a force(B) where the centrigual force(B) exerts its own force back on force(A) creates a constant pushing and pulling effect on all atoms contained in each force thus creating gravity.

In theory.

ok, I know you didn't mean it as it came out, just wanted to stress the point for all that passed the obvious meaning saying nothing

and yeah, they will be corrected before long, Einstein that is, I don't think one can correct Newton anymore once he went through Einstiein's checkup although I wouldn't go personally as far as saying that he (Einstein) would prove wrong, just corrected but his essential ideas would stand up

I find that pretentious to the maximum when people take the view that anyone who makes new advance in physics improving upon some old work that he thereby proves his predecessors work wrong, false, good for garbage can, Newton had the sense to say 'he stood on the shoulders of giants' and Einstein repeated that in his own way, great men typically show way more humbleness than rank and file labourer on the lowest rungs of sciences

vanDivX

If that were true a bose-einstein condensate would have no mass. Since they do have mass, your idea is disproved.
I put on my robe and wizard hat...

There is somewhere, the connection of heat with gravity.

"Newton: Objects with mass attract each other...
