Cloverfield and Get Smart need to be in the "worst" group, IMO replaced by Gran Torino and Benjamine Button.

Hmmm Top and Worst 5 of 2008 eh? I still have a number that I haven't seen that could make the list but from the movies that I've see so far:

Top

5. Pineapple Express

4. The Dark Knight

3. Iron Man

2. Son of Rambow

1. Young @ Heart

However living in a small town most of the award contenders have not come here to I haven't had the chance to watch them. Once I get a chance I'm sure that above list will change significantly. For anyone that hasn't seen Young @ Heart I highly recommend it. It is a documentary about the Young@Heart choir, a seniors choir based in Massachusetts. My GF convinced me to watch it and it was wonderful.

Worst

3. Vantage Point (had the potential to be very good just didn't quite deliver)

2. 21

1. Get Smart (only movie this year I was unable to sit all the way through)

Hmmmm as I thought about the year it really wasn't that good. Although there are a number of movies I'm looking forward to seeing, Doubt, Synecdoche, NY, Gran Torino, Rachael Getting Married, Milk, so still might be able to classify it a good year once I've actually had the chance to see those movies.
