Ok Big Brain.

Everyone usually has a personal reason for their particular username. Me, it's from "A Wizard of Earthsea," by Ursula K. LeGuin.

Now your's is either the biggest ironic hoax there is, or you're dead serious. In either case, there's not much to this thread, except some gibberish IN CAPITAL LETTERS all of the time.

You have stated the wildest nonsense, violated multiple known ways that physical laws do and don't work, listed chapter and verse of virtual scientific Mother Goose stories.

*Feh*

Thank you. I have been very entertained, if in a somewhat bemused way. Because you're either the biggest spoof-artist there is, or you're dead serious about this.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Two of the guys I went to High school with effectively invented IRC'ing in '75, on that same "network." Very cool. I still remember chatting with someone at the other city High school, about 10 miles away.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Look at this fine real image of Spirit:
http://marsprogram.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/spacecraft/2003rover.html

Very nice, all your images are real, not at all faked.

But I am not interested in pictures.

skyeagle409 wrote:
"bigbrain---If you try to keep it vertical making it to go backwards, using its rocket engine as a brake, you will see it is impossible.
bigbrain,
Please, don't tell that to the folks who flew this rocket backwards to a landing.

http://www.clavius.org/techdcx.html"

In "clavius.org" I have read:

"The best evidence for the stability of the LM design is empirical. Find a yardstick or meter stick. Try to balance it vertically on end on your hand. You probably won't be able to do it for very long. But balance it horizontally, using the graduations as a guide in finding the center of mass. You should be able to do this easily, and may even be able to move your hand around without upsetting the stick. The mass and moment of inertia are identical in these cases, but you apply less torque by off-axis support when the stick is horizontal".

What a beautiful example of mechanics of crap gravity forces.

LUNAR MODULE IS NOT A METER STICK. YOU ARE COMPLETELY CRAZY AS WHEN YOU BELIEVE REAL THOSE IMAGES OF MARS THAT LOOKS LIKE A CUCUMBER.

The thrust vector is vertical and the thrust force acts upwards.
The engine is not in the center of mass because it discharges its force downwards.
When lunar module is landing, the engine acts as a brake like your finger under a coke can.
LUNAR MODULE IS NOT A HORIZONTAL METER STICK.
THIS IS A SLOVENLINESS.

Gravity forces, when the engine acts as a brake during landing, tend to fall off your ugly piece of metal in any directions at 360 degrees.

bigbrain, you the man... I mean you know a lot of things, like a brainiac. I don't dare start to say if we have lied about some of our accomplishments in space.

I'm newer here and just find it how funny bigbrain can pick at your minds. The guy's an educated mystery...

I find him or her interesting...

Thank you. Finally someone agrees a little with me.

Hey, I have found this interesting picture:
http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/newsdesk/archive/releases/2001/24/

"Hubble Captures Best View of Mars Ever Obtained From Earth:

Frosty white water ice clouds and swirling orange dust storms above a vivid rusty landscape reveal Mars as a dynamic planet in this sharpest view ever obtained by an Earth-based telescope. The Earth-orbiting Hubble telescope snapped this picture on June 26, when Mars was approximately 43 million miles (68 million km) from Earth -- its closest approach to our planet since 1988. Hubble can see details as small as 10 miles (16 km) across. Especially striking is the large amount of seasonal dust storm activity seen in this image. One large storm system is churning high above the northern polar cap [top of image], and a smaller dust storm cloud can be seen nearby. Another large duststorm is spilling out of the giant Hellas impact basin in the Southern Hemisphere [lower right]".

And you have gone there with a powerful software placed on your probe that is able to drive it to Mars looking at the stars and, instead of landing where there is life ("One large storm system is churning high above the northern polar cap [top of image], and a smaller dust storm cloud can be seen nearby"), have you gone here?:
http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/all/2/p/365/2P158774517EFFA2DHP2352R1M1.JPG

in an uncultivated field of Sahara.

At Nasa works a lot of idiot people.

I have understood you are not expert in mechanics of forces.
I need a physicist (possibly someone not working at Nasa) that explains why the lunar module an the famous meter stick are the same thing.

Remember, not all probes that were supposed to go to mars made it there.
