I stand corrected. From the "Captain's Blog"...7/28/05 8:27 PM Zen's post (as copied by RCH)... Richard, It has become apparent that there are those over at the Space.com message boards who believe you are instructing your "fans" to wage a spam campaign to "destroy" their cyber domain. To prove to these folks that openness is the hallmark of the Enterprise Mission, and your personal credo, I here re-post my responses to those allegations. I think it is important for any "new" friends here to hear the truth straight, before experiencing any of this stuff first hand: "Very.....CHALLENGING ideas, to be sure. Richard's Enterprise Mission chat board has hundreds of members, and the small handful of "us" who post here remains the same - only a handful. Richard has not assembled an army of "followers" to "invade" here, nor is he out to "oppose" you specifically. Richard seeks to oppose NASA/JPL disingeuousness. The fact that he references Space.com now is (in my opinion only) that A) He is aware of our (myself, Max, Gene, etc) history here since the Cassinni fly-by of Iapetus B) He is aware that Space.com represents the single largest and most well-known meeting place for amature and professional people interested in space sciences and NASA/JPL missions C) He has directly experienced certain writers of the Space.com online magazine, wittingly or unwittingly, participating in a systematic and unscientific series of journalistic assaults on his ideas, reputation, and motives. These have been, yes, POLITICALLY motivated journalistic attacks that seem totally "out of place" for "professionals" who could simply ignore him, but instead "show their hand" and their true political allegiances by having participated in said "science journalism" D) Richard is very aware of the "half-life" of the attention spans of media-saavy Americans. See my previous post. He never addressed the spamming issue, did he? So do we take that to mean he refuses to tell GRR8 (or anyone else) to back off? Why didn't he deny he had instructed his "followers" to disrupt this site by spamming? Why didn't he tell his "followers" to back off the tactic? The issue was the spamming and whether it was being done under "Captain's Orders" - and he neatly avoided it. lol, to follow.... the post I deleted cuz I thought it became an irrelevant post after telf's post posted while I was posting a soon to be irrelevant post! Then a subsequent post made my original post...... postable! <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /> Richard still hasn't commented on my geometry, so I'm used to him not paying attentiion to me <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /> He may be thinking about it.... It took him like 3 weeks to get back to me about the whole "What's the deal w/ ortho photos" thing. He may just try to let it blow over..... wouldn't you? Why get involved if you don't have to? If you all bark loud enough, he'll respond. If you all speak loud enough, I'm sure he'll respond even better. Don't rely on Zen to carry your message. You all have voices. Communicate with him.

If it bothers you so much, ignore it. ~shrug~ Spamming is bound to happen on such a popular forum. Happen? Yes. But it's a violation of TOS. And there is evidence RCH encouraged or ordered GRR8 to spam. And given a chance to respond to the situation, he chose to ignore it. "Shrug????" You know, all it would have taken was an PM or post from you or Zen at the TEM site asking GRR8 to stop. Immediately after the incident, someone here went to the blog, logged in and posted something critical of RCH. A number of posters here immediately told the individual to stop and delete his post, if possible. yes, ~shrug~ , Big deal. Don't read them. It was only one Grr8 guy, and he only posted it a couple of times. A couple of times? Really? You should get out more....do a search. See how many times he's posted the same link to the "Captain's Blog." And BTW, he's under a final warning for spamming. Better yet, spring the 4 bucks, read till your heart's content and quit. That's fine Telfrow. I don't have the time to stay on top of every thread, let alone read every thread. Thanks for updating me. I sincerely hope that if this thing bothers you so much, you muster the courage to go out and actually do something about it..... Kind of like me and a few others have about this whole "NASA has been lying for ~50 years now". GRR8's 'spamming' is as big a deal as you make it..... really. That's my point of view. Sorry if it irritates you. The way you ~shrug~ NASA's incompetence and total lack of investigation over the ruins in our solar system is even more irritating. Come on over to the TEM boards. It won't kill you, you'll see how 'huge' this so-called 'campaign' really is, and RCH isn't likely to drive off in a new Ferrari w/ his percentage of your $4.00.
