Making Wood Board For Planet Ellipses. Does the planet Major Axis line up very close to each other? I realize the sun is one foci. Is there any ephemeris or other places to get this information? I personally dont think that at this 24" scale of the planets it will be noticeable.

Grade schoolers?<br /><br />Don't worry about it, circle will do fine.<br /><br /><br />Higher grades?<br /><br />Just put an asterisk on the darn thing and note that due to manufacturing constraints you have used a circle.<br /><br /><br />College Level?<br /><br />Do it all on a PC with interactive graphical user interface, refer all queries to Spacedotcom . . . <br /><br /><br /><br /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#ff0000"><strong>TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!</strong></font></p><p><font color="#339966"><strong>So many people, so few recipes !!</strong></font></p><p><font color="#0000ff"><strong>Let's clean up this stinkhole !!</strong></font> </p> </div>

Thanks. Yes it is for high school. My Daughter has won the state science fair twice and is doing this years project on Keplers laws. Mars is the main planet orbit she will use. She will be explaining to the judges about how Kepler discovered the ellipse laws and it is important that she show most all the technigues and positions of an ellipse. We feel that the laptop interactive symbol rotations arent as effective as showing his first technique of observation of opposition, aphellions, and ect. This is the first year she will be ellgible for international science fair.

Other than for Pluto that is. Of course, that's only a dwarf planet <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /> <img src="/images/icons/laugh.gif" /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John.
