Anyone been watching Heroes on NBC?

2 episodes down so far and I'm really likeing it. What is it with the current crop of top notch shows coming out.
BSG next week, Lost today or tomorrow???, Heroes, Jericho even Kyle XY and 3 moons over milford.

Heroes has an X-men/Fantastic 4 feel to it. But maybe in a more "Babylon 5" sort of way.

*raises hand*

I love how all the characters' plot lines intersect with each other. Really looking forward to the rest of the season.

Unfortunatly I missed the second episode, hopefully I can catch it on SciFi Friday. I liked the first episode, however. I hope this show doesn't get cancled prematurely.

So, again we are defeated. I'm watching it, and I like it. Hopefully NBC will stick it out for a while and let them actually try.

Otherwise, I'm itching to watch BSG tonight...and the other show I'm watching (not sci-fi though) is Studio 60, the new Aaron Sorkin show.

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Pistol, apparently NBC itself is hosting the latest episodes on their website for those who miss an episode.

"Anyone been watching Heroes on NBC?"

Yep. Good stuff. Very good 'comic-book' feel to it so far. Must be due to the current generation of TV writers who grew up reading this kind of stuff! I've heard there is even a graphic-novel tie-in to the show.

Watch out for the stripper-chick's super-power. That mirror alter-ego of hers is deadly and smart.

I've got a theory about how the solar eclipse fits in to it all. The show made a point of how the eclipse was seen differently depending on where in the world you were (wow some real science inserted into a fantasy show! go figure). But why bother pointing this factoid out to the audience? I think the distance from the total eclipse is relative to the raw power each character posseses.

We've seen the flying politician and his flying brother in New York. The pre-cog artist in New York. The indestructable cheer-leader in Texas. The stripper with the scary alter-ego power in Las Vegas. The mind-reading cop in Los Angeles. And Hiro, the master of time and space, from Tokyo.

I think the people with the strongest powers come from wherever the eclipse of the sun was most complete, like Tokyo, and then peters off towards the west where the eclipse was less complete, as in New York. That would make Hiro the most powerful while the residents of New York would have the least.

Well it's a theory anyway.
Every superhero has to have a supervillan. No one ever said that the main characters would all be good guys.

So, again we are defeated. Just saw tonight's ep. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't leave us knowing any more than last time. The suspense continues...

However, the chick waking up at her own audtopsy was pretty cool.

So, again we are defeated. This victory belongs to the farmers, not us.

-Kambei Shimada from the movie Seven Samurai

actual science in words only...I believe both Tokyo and New york saw the eclips at the same time....which would be difficult considering they're nearly 12 hours apart..the duration of the eclipse is far less than that (and it should be night in one of those locations).

Also, the eclipse may have nothing to do with it...since we don't know how long "sylar" has been doing his schtick.

--------------------SaiphMOD@gmail.com -------------------

"This is my Timey Wimey Detector. Goes "bing" when there's stuff. It also fries eggs at 30 paces, wether you want it to or not actually. I've learned to stay away from hens: It's not pretty when they blow" -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

spoiler:

I'm not exactly sure why she was autopsied...it's pretty obvious that she died from a stick in her head.

She could have just woken up in the morgue, without her chest being opened up like that (and it was just peeled open, not fully cracked open like I think an autopsy really does).

Another weird thing is that who ever pulled the stick out of her head simply vanished the moment she revived.

If you just pulled a stick out of a cheerleader's head after opening her chest, and saw her eyes come alive and her lungs fill with air, would you stick around?

I am really liking this show. It has the feel of "Surface" but seems to be much better done.

Vote Libertarian

They may have just been offscreen for the cliffhanger.

Also, I'm wondering why she's such a magnet for disaster...this is the second random/freak accident that would have killed her.

Personally I'd have done without the accident on the football field...it just seemed gratuitous..it didn't seem to serve any purpose.

Also...I hope she was purposefully testing herself with the garbage disposal scene. It also demonstrates that she doesn't really feel any actual pain from injuries, otherwise she wouldn't have willingly done that even if she heals from it.

Ah, the whipped cream bikini. Memories, sweet sweet memories. That and the Hot For Teacher scene [nudge] [nudge] are the only reasons to watch Varsity Blues.

So, again we are defeated. There's the possibility that Niki (Ali Larter) simply has a dual personality rather than some mutant doppleganger. IIRC, when the man with glasses stood over her and the politician, he said to nab only one of them.

Oh, hard choice. The butt kicker or the congressional candidate - both could have serious consequences. Ah, what about the camera in the smoke detector?
