. . . when are we going to be seeing our old pals Bill Shatner and Lenny Nemoy on Heroes?

Would you be referring to this?

Zachary Quinto Meets Leonard Nimoy

Actually, I was referring to the appearance of Nichelle Nichols who played Lt. Uhura at the end of the latest episode.

So, again we are defeated. Well, it's been fairly obvious from the beginning that the writers are Star Trek fans...

Okay - I actually thought you might've been referring to Kaito Nakamura (now, sadly, deceased - or is he?), aka Sulu, aka George Takei. And took the opportunity to mention the latest 'young Spock.'

Micah's great-aunt, though - how did I miss that? I even have a real-world tale to go with that. My younger daughter literally ran into Nichelle Nichols as she was exiting an elevator in Boston, about 5 years ago (to the best of my recollection). She had no idea whom she had bumped into - and, worse, didn't seem to care. My wife gave our daughter a stern look (I wasn't present for this momentous event, darnit), called her name, and said something like, 'You just ran right into someone; now what do you say?' Our diminutive redhead, already standing in the elevator, turned around and brightly chirped, 'Sorry!' Ms. Nichols, totally unperturbed, smiled, said, 'It's all right,' and went her way.

Oh, well, there it is: the brush with greatness that little girl was unable to comprehend... : (

I ran - literally - into Sam Donaldson once. Does that count?

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Well, as we have seen with previous shows where time travel is possible, no one is ever truly "killed off" of the show.

Speaking of run-inns, my dad once ran into (not quite literally) John Cleese who happened to be giving a speech at a genetics convention that was being held at the hotel my dad was staying at. Why would John Cleese give a speech at a genetics convention? It is easy to forget that most of the Pythons met in Cambridge University and many of them have PhDs in various degrees. IIRC none of them went to college to become entertainers, it just sort of happened.

So, again we are defeated.
