That's the way it looks to me.

Again, I don't know what the right answer is, I'm just following where the evidence leads.

I thought there was a hint of that possible ray on the Valley edge in the APOD image, but after looking at all bobw's images I'm still formulating a mechanism to explain the sequence of all 3.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. I am sure about Herodotus for the reason you just gave. The original question tied that together with Schroter's Valley so that is probably true too. I haven't been able to follow rays into the valley for certain and I think a lot of the crater-looking things in the valley might be sink holes. That part is harder than Herodotus for sure.

What do you think?

Okay, well if there's a ray on the valley edge it will do me a great favor and explain how Schroter's Valley is also older than Aristrachus.

Like I said, I only saw it in the APOD image.

I'm clicking through all of them now to try and figure it out. This is fun!!

Make sure you let us know how things turn out with your assignment

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Yes, I will for sure! The other questions were quite easy... this and the one in my other post were the only two that got me stumped.

Bob, considering this is grade 12 Earth and Space Sciences (a supposedly straightforward course), I don't think things can get any more complicated. The ray must extend into the valley as well.

What about rilles in general? Are they known to be old?

The original question asked "What is your evidence?" I don't think "This is only 12th grade so it must be easy." is good evidence.

What about rilles in general? Are they known to be old?

I don't like to give away answers to homework either, like MeteorWayne, but I will say this: Think about that question, the definition of a rille and look real closely at Herodotus crater. Between that and the list you wrote in the eighth post of this thread you are well on your way to answering the question in your other thread.
