Whee! I am in Nerdvana! I had already bought a region-free DVD player, and then I pre-ordered it from amazon.co.uk. It was shipped right on time and arrived in perfect condition. Well, one DVD fell out of its holder inside the oddly roomy TARDIS-shaped box, but it wasn't damaged at all, and stays properly on its holder now.

To test the suspect DVD, I watched part of it last night. Saw "The Long Game" (initially wanted to watch it with commentary, but changed my mind; I wanted to experience it again!) and the short FX documentary "Mocks of Balloons" about the miniature work done to realize the balloon Rose dangles from in "The Empty Child". It was very interesting.

I heartily recommend this special DVD set. Excellent purchase! (One complaint: once you've turned the commentary on, you apparently can't turn it off, or at least I didn't find a way to turn it off. I had to eject the DVD and put it back in to watch it without commentary.)

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Actually I sort of feel like the guy who was just a hand in the quarry. I'll need to rebuild and re-form myself. Which episode was that (The Hand of Fear?)

Perhaps I shouldn't tell you this now that you are so happy, but today it was announced that a R1/NTSC version of the box set will be released on the 14th of February 2006.

Here in Norway we get in both on TV and we are in the same region as the UK...

Yes, jmilsom, that was "The Hand of Fear"! Sarah Jane Smith's farewell episode. The guy who was just a hand was Eldrad, a silicon-based lifeform that fed off of radiation. When he rebuilt himself, he modeled his body after the Earth native who picked him up, which happened to be Sarah; the costume was very beautiful, and the actress had to be literally sewn into it.

Available on VHS in both NTSC and PAL.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Excellent! I'm glad to hear it. But I'm also glad I don't have to wait that long.

I'm just jealous you get it on TV.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

The new Who has been excellent. I'm sorry Chris Eccelston chose to go; he was the best since Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee (my favourites). I haven't seen David Tennant yet (except in Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire) but I'm looking forward to him.

Gee; They haven't got many re-generations left before the 12th!! If each actor (10, 11 & 12) stayed in the role for an average of 4 or 5 years, we'd have new Who till about 2020!!

More than 57 years in the TARDIS. How cool would THAT be?!!

One Percent of Federal Funding For Space: America CAN Afford it!! LEO is a Prison -- It's time for a JAILBREAK!!
