</p><p>I think your original synopsis of the ending plotline, on the first page of this thread, is going to turn out to be what happens. There are too many referrences to "cycles" and how this conflict has occurred before for it to be ignored. Judging by the short shot we saw of, presumably, Earth during Starbuck's "spirit walk" type of flight, they'll end up at war-torn planet; A testament to the fruits of war and conflict. It may be that once all is realized, they figure out that the only way to end the cycle is to join and become one people. (Hence, the importance of the hybrid baby, as a harbinger of what is to come.) So, it'll fade away with humans and cylons playing together on a swing-set or something suitably sappy.
