[wub back]<br /><br />But I am an absolutely raving-mad Whovian, and I watched "The Empty Child" three times the week it hit the 'net. (Yes, I have a copy, even though I live in the US where it will probably never show. I hesitate to describe it for those who may not have seen it, but it was extremely creepy, and yes, very convincing. Gone are the days where you needed serious suspension of disbelief; this was a very effective FX. Of course, Who usually did a good job with the creepier FX. I remember Peri turning into a bird in "Vengeance on Varos"; that episode generally had so-so or even laughable effects, but the metamorphosis was very effective. Very simply done, too; they just stuck on more feathers each time. And then there was the Master in "The Deadly Assassin". Okay, so his mouth didn't move, but he scared the pants of me when I was a little tyke. He looks awfully gruesome.<br /><br />I like it when Doctor Who goes in for horror. All those people, with no life signs, their faces replaced by gas masks, slowly approaching our heros (who are desperately trying not to touch any of them, lest they suffer the same fate) and saying "Are you my mummy?"
