So Kiwi's, what have you made of Season 2 so far? On reflection, I think I'm missing Eccleston far more than I thought I would. It's been a little bit ho-hum so far. Tennant is okay, but only okay. Too many one episode stories, too much fawning adoration from Piper's character. I thought she was brilliant in Season 1, but they have taken her in the wrong direction this year. I won't be sorry to see Piper go. The much-anticipated Cybermen story was personally a bit of a fizzer too.

On the positive side, I really enjoyed seeing Sarah Jane and K9 again. I've also enjoyed the weaving of Torchwood into almost every story. I can't wait to see how that is all brought together, if indeed it is this Season.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Yes, it does become more prominent this season -- especially at the end.

I actually liked the Cyberman story, personally. But I suppose it's a matter of personal taste.

The Torchwood stuff is of course a lead-in to the upcoming spinoff series "Torchwood", featuring Captain Jack Harkness.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Thought I'd drag this one out of the Uplink bowels to mention that the Christmas special screened here finally last night. Reaffirmed my belief that Catherine Tate is the unfunniest comedienne going around. How she got her own show or, indeed, a prized DW gig is beyond me.

Episode-wise, 3 out of 5 jaffas on the whole. Extra jaffa for the mention of Gallifray.

Just read on Wiki that Tate is returning in Season 4 as a Companion! Is it too much to hope she encounters a spectacular death at the hands of the Daleks in Episode 1?

Random thought. Doesn't David Tennant look a little like Callum Blue from Dead Like Me? Just as with Alexander Siddig (ST:DS9) and James Callis (Battlestar Galactica). Anyway, Blue could play The Doctor's 'brother' in an upcoming episode. I'll let the script-writers come up with a way to make that happen, I'm just the idea's man.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

I'm bumping this sucker again to say I have really, really enjoyed this season of Dr. Who. Have any of you other Kiwi's been checking it out? I think they've finally found their feet with the writing, the stories have been strong.

They just showed the episode, "Blink". A fantastic and very clever single episode yarn. As I say, I think they have been nailing it consistantly during this season. And, the preview for next week's episode indicates a visit from Captain Jack ... they're on a roll!

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Tenent is actually quite good. So is Torchwood in it's own way.

[I have all three seasons of Doctor Who, and the first two Torchwood - no, don;t ask where I got them.]

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Blink was as "old School" as it comes, REAL Dr Who fare, eh mate?. I liked it a LOT.

And I felt like a kid again, covering my eyes in fright and apprehension at Dr Who's Style-Over-substantial-Special-Effects-budget. The Weeping Angels were SCARY !. Far far more scary than some things we have seen millions of dollars spent on.

I LOVED The Dr's explaination about their ploy " . . . and you can't kill a STONE". *gulp*

Loved the little bit at the end, destroying a generation of school-childrens trust in mundane reality, just like old times!.

(I was visiting my Mum to check up on how she is doing, and we watched it together, just like we used to do when I was a spratling. And I sneezed during one scary scene, and got a slap for "Scaring your old Mum". hahahaha)

We should be so lucky. No sign of even Season 1 of Torchwood down here yet. I assume the local network here bought the option on that series when they picked up the 'Who but, if they did, they've been saving it for the rainy day to end all rainy days.

I was going to ask, but I've just noticed an unmarked black sedan pull up outside. I would never be one to suggest you're well-connected in the Twin Cities area.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Season three of 'Who' was excellent -- this is one of the very best things on TV. 'Blink' should win a Hugo or there is no justice. 'Torchwood' is pretty good and should get even better.

One Percent of Federal Funding For Space: America CAN Afford it!! LEO is a Prison -- It's time for a JAILBREAK!!
