The United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, that is.

Well, now you can, albeit on the Web! Presumably as part of their efforts to promote the new series of Doctor Who, the BBC has launched a website for UNIT. I haven't poked around it much yet, but here it is for all you Whovians out there:

www.unit.org.uk

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

I have not really seen much of Dr.Who after Tom Baker. Has UNIT featured prominently in later series?

Never as prominently as during the Jon Pertwee years, but yes, UNIT did show up from time to time. It's also been featured in a number of unofficial-but-practically-canon productions by Bill Baggs Video, produced mainly during the 90s when fans were suffering from Who withdrawal.

Post-Pertwee episodes (BBC only) featuring UNIT that I can think of off the top of my head:

TOM BAKER
Robot - heavy UNIT involvement
Terror of the Zygons - heavy UNIT involvement
The Android Invasion - heavy UNIT involvement
Seeds of Doom - UNIT used to establish government ability to call on the Doctor
Hand of Fear - UNIT used to establish why the government trusts the Doctor

PETER DAVISON
Time Flight - UNIT used to establish government ability to call on the Doctor
Mawdryn Undead - Brigadier is a major character, but he's retired; UNIT is discussed heavily
The Five Doctors - minor UNIT involvement; Brigadier is a major character
Resurrection of the Daleks - UNIT mentioned to establish Doctor's credentials

COLIN BAKER
None that I can think of, alas.

SYLVESTER MCCOY
Remembrance of the Daleks - UNIT doesn't exist yet, but we meet its 1963 predecessors
Battlefield - heavy UNIT involvement

CHRIS ECCLESTON
Aliens of London - aired just last weekend and ended with a cliffhanger; UNIT troops were involved with the defense of a captured "alien" pilot; may have much more involvement in the next episode

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

Ah yes it's all coming back to me now - Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, Sergeant Benton and Surgeon-Lieutenant Harry Sullivan. Those first few seasons of Tom Baker's were real classics. It is so long since I have any Dr.Who, when I finally return to Australia later this year (after ten years abroad), I am defintiely hitting the DVD stores for some old classics!!!
