Hi MeteorWayne,

Yes I have been busy today, working on more images.

Surely my images are not that exciting??

The above images are all very rarely seen. I included the Earth ones as they are very interesting.

Taken needless to say during the first Earth / Moon encounter.

Granted, they are monochrome, but are really very good.

I may have to be a little careful, as I could be accused of spamming.

But my posts are clearly not, as I am trying to contribute interesting material that may
be of interest to SDC members.

Goodnight friend.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. Those rock! (or ice?) Europa is so amazing. Thanks!

One comment about the ice domes. WIth the oblique sun angle, it almost looks like some of these objects are visible under the ice, too. Very neat.

J

We need a first generation of pioneers.

I am interested in everything, especialy things I don't know about or haven't seen yet. To be honest this is one of these web resources I'm almost surprised is free, considering the rarity and quality of information.

I always have been fond of space (nagging my parents till they subsribed to Time-Life's 1988 21-volume Voyage through space series, among other things), but it's only today that I'm starting to study it (albeit as a hobby) in detail.
So, I don't know much, but I figure I have to start somewhere, and assimilating as much info from everything I find on the web and on paper is convenient enough In fact the format of your posts is perfect, I have a habit of saving pictures with any comments/ideas/captions in Windows' file properties.

Any pictures will do.. So far I have seen nothing I didn't save. There are a dozen really great pics I'm glad I found, but of all the recent ones that last pic of Mare Crisium is beautiful.

Thanks again

Thank you very much Nimbus.

I can see we will get on just fine.

Thanks too for the tip off of the image that has been missed out (738578)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is an interesting one of Europa. Very clearly slushy ice that has since frozen rock hard.

Yes the scale of the second image (738566) is only 6 kilometres a side or 36 square kilometres
in area.

So quite a small area.

I have just looked up the original source on NASA PDS. I will have to research some of
the other. So do not be surprised if the texts on some of the past posts change.

But the images will remain. So do not fear.

Thanks J05H, your appreciation is much appreciated by me. The comments from Yourself, Nibus,
HalcyonDays & MeteorWayne's encouragement, makes this effort seem well worth while.

I like that Mare Crisium image too. Imaged by the Jupiter bound Galileo Spacecraft,
from the North East, exacty opposite to that as seen from Earth. Whilst the resolution
can be matched by decent Earth based telescopes, (check out NJAA & ask MeteorWayne)
the viewing angle is very alien.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world.
