That was a weird launch. The SRB's flames have never looked blue before, except tonight. At about 1 minute and 30 seconds the orange flames turned blue, and i'm sure it's perfectly normal....but it just looked wierd.

No disiplinary action against the worker who forgot to pin the door back. He admiited his mistake straight away and mistakes do happen so fair enough.

Probably would have been different if they had to scrub though ;)

Their looking at couple of issues.

The Ku link is giving trouble with tracking and is being kept pointed by ground control. This may be a problem for docking as it's used for RADAR ranging too. Yay, we have a new post.
This may sound like nit-picking, but I don't appreciate the blue jumpsuits.

This is a multi-million dollar international endeavour, so the suits should, uh, "follow suit". I'm thinking something silvery with black details.

The current jumpsuits look cheap and so eighties design...

I know I haven't been hanging around here very much lately. I've taken up residence over at the spaceport, which can be a little too right wing for me sometimes, but at least it's interesting. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the insider info from Shuttleguy and the like.

Keeping on topic = I have a question. From what I understand in Zvezda there are only two pods for sleeping quarters, and the third guy "hangs out" in node 1 with his sleeping bag tied to the wall. So now that they are installing more sleeping quarters in preparation for a 6 man crew, how come they only brought up two additional sleeping quarters? That would only be 4 total pods, so would two guys "hang out" in the node tied to the wall?

Don't let your sig line incite a gay thread ;>)

Tuning in.

Funny how a 6.5h spacewalk is not considered newsworthy at this day and age. It's a good thing I suppose. Goes to show that we've come a long way with respect to orbital construction for such undertaking to fall into the "standard" operations category.

"The choice is the Universe, or nothing ... " - H.G Wells

Looks like a grease gun went off a bit early in an equipment bag. Then, when the mess was being cleaned up, the bag got loose and floated away...

She was the one who saw it first hand so she would know best, but we dont know if the safety thing to stop it realising the grease failed, or the grease canister did infact explode due to change in pressure
